Sydney works as a legal intern while she completes her final year of law school at the University of Idaho College of Law. She serves as the Chief Symposium Editor for the Idaho Law Review, and as the student representative for the University of Idaho Faculty Senate. During law school, Sydney had the opportunity to practice as a judicial extern with the 4th Judicial District of Idaho. She hopes that her future practice will focus on healthcare, real estate, and business law.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sydney graduated from Boise State University in 2013 with degrees in accounting and finance. She worked for Deloitte as an audit associate in Boise, and then returned to Las Vegas to work for a custom software company. This taught her the intricacies of running a small technology company, which led her to pursue law school. With her heart still in Boise, she returned in the fall of 2017. She believes a career as an attorney will bring lifelong learning opportunities.

In her free time, Sydney enjoys listening to live music, watching Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey, and spending time with her fiancé and their puppy, Olive. She also spends time volunteering with Make a Wish Idaho and serves as a board member for the BSU Honors College Alumni Association. Community engagement drives Sydney’s work and life.

“I hope to continue to engage with the community in meaningful ways,” she says. “One thing I appreciate and value about Smith + Malek is their commitment to community and family.”
